The Historic Occidental Hotel in Buffalo, WY

Established 1878 by The Buell family, it has an elegant 1908 saloon, fine dining in The Virginian Restaurant, and a Busy Bee Breakfast spot. Guests from the past include Butch Cassidy,Teddy Roosevelt, Calamity Jane, and Buffalo Bill. Like many old western towns, it shares its own bloody battles and murders. Part of the Occidental used to be a brothel. One of the ladies had a child called Emily; she died of cholera at a young age. They say that she still wonders about the hotel. Some have also seen a man dressed in all black. We were not able to capture anything on video cameras or on photos; however we were able to capture EVPs( electronic voice phenomena) of male and female voices. Also when doing an EVP session in the library, we were able to get some K2(mel meter) action when talking about guns. The Occidental Hotel is well worth the visit, not only to see all the wonderful antiques- as it doubles as a museum, but also for all the great pictures all over the walls. If you look and listen carefully, you might just see somebody from its past.
